Work started on site at the museum in April to transform the Old Stables area of the museum into a new Learning and Visitor Centre.  This exciting development at the museum has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and will incorporate an exhibition area, learning and community space, and there will also be a refreshment area run by The Friends of Erewash Museum.   At Erewash Museum we are always looking to improve on what we can offer to local schools and to meet therequirements of the new national curriculum. We also feel that hands-on learning is a fantastic way for children to learn about the past. With this in mind we have developed a brand new archaeology loans box which covers prehistoric Britain from the Palaeolithic era right up to the Iron Age, which is an expanse of nearly 900,000 years!
